Since 1995, Arbor Collective has been at the forefront of the sustainability movement and was the first snowboard company to replace the standard plastic snowboard top with wood veneer. As pioneers in the use of bamboo, bio-plastic, and other renewable, recycled, and reclaimed alternatives, Arbor is a snowboard company to watch!
With men’s, women’s, and youth board and binding lines, there is something at Arbor for everyone. A favorite among snowboarders is the Arbor Element, their signature board that put their name on the map. Boarders like the Element because it gives a surf-like ride that allows the rider to feel like they are gliding across the snow.

Arbor’s production line is 30% solar powered, but by the end of 2020, they plan on it being 100% solar powered. They use a closed system that captures, filters, and then reuses all water. Any wood bi-product that is not used in the manufacturing process is reclaimed and upcycled.
Arbor is also known for their signature Power Ply topsheets that are made with sustainably sourced wood or bamboo. Not only does this make for a visually amazing snowboard, with visible natural wood grain, but their Power Ply technology also improves the strength and durability of their snowboards. Arbor’s Power Ply designs are some of the most labor-intensive snowboards on the market, which you will discover enhances their performance and board life.
New in 2020, Arbor is using Entropy Bio-Resin with all of their Power Ply veneers. Entropy Bio-Resin is a replacement for traditional petroleum based resin that helps reduce the carbon footprint by up to 40%.
Keeping in line with their sustainable roots, their program “Returning Roots,” donates to programs that protect and restore forests. Their donations primarily go to reforesting and preserving Koa rainforests in Hawaii, the birthplace of surfing.
If Arbor’s sustainability initiatives aren’t enough to get you excited about their boards, they collaborate with some pretty sick artists to create amazing board graphics that look rad on or off the slopes.
